Corruption has been the largest impediment to economic growth and prosperity in the Philippines. Means of corruption include graft, bribery, embezzlement, backdoor deals, nepotism and patronage. Corruption erodes the moral fiber of the society. The biggest losers are the Filipino people themselves.
As employees of an established company in the Philippines, we acknowledge our companies’ responsibility to lead by example in the fight against corruption and to operate our businesses ethically and with integrity.
While the government has its own initiatives for reducing corruption, we realize that those initiatives cannot succeed without commitment from businesses to build integrity into the business environment.
The character of each individual citizen will determine the character of the Filipino nation as a whole.
For my country’s sake, community’s sake, family’s sake, as well as my own sake, I make the following pledge:
If it isn’t right, I won’t do it.
If it isn’t true, I won’t say it.
If it isn’t mine, I won’t take it.
I will perform honest work for an honest days wage.
I will be transparent in my actions and thoughts.
I will never break the law or compromise my principals to make money.
I will demonstrate authenticity in everything I do.
I will NEVER tolerate graft, nepotism or patronage of any kind.
I will NEVER demand entitlements to which I’m not entitled.
I will NEVER do business with parties who have demonstrated unethical business practices domestically and/or internationally.
I will participate in company training programs that promote integrity, honesty, accountability and ethical business practices.
I will promote integrity not just at the office, but within my family, community and nation.
